5: D Chord, "Hakuna Matata"

This week we are going to practice incorporating the “down, down, up, up, down, up” strumming pattern into the song, “Hakuna Matata”. It’s a good idea to practice each new skill one at a time until you feel confident with each skill, and then add them together. Practice the D chord first. Then practice switching from D to F and other chords. Then practice playing the strumming pattern by itself. Then practice switching chords with the strumming pattern. Remember, start out each new skill slowly and carefully. Once you learn the skill, then you can speed up as you build confidence. Happy playing!
