In our final week of class, we build on our fingerpicking skills we learned with “Fur Elise” and utilize the “hammer on” skill to give the song a new twist. We also add two final chords for the class, the A and D7 chords, and put them to use in the songs “You’ve Got a Friend in Me”. Lastly, we went over seven ways you can continue growing as a musician: Record yourself, switch chords without looking down, play using a metronome, play with and for others, set new learning goals (learn new chords, strumming patterns, songs, or techniques), hum or sing along, and enjoy the gift of music.
